Nearing the Finish Line

“Hey, Dan? Calm it with the sports references.” I know, this is my third sports-referenced blog post title in the past few months, so I guess you could say I’m one overtly-masculine grunt away from being a full-blown athlete. But let’s save the conversation about my transition into a sports icon for another day so we can get on to the actual matters at hand.

23 Goals as a 23-Year-Old

A new year (birth year, that is) means a new set of goals. Last year I decided to move away from setting a goal for every year of my life in favor of fifteen more manageable goals. To be honest, these goals did not excite me. I wrote them in a haze of uncreativity last year when I was having difficulty finding something to write about, and I struggled to feel excited about many of them.

Wrapping Up My 22-Year Goals

In the words of Sia, “I’m aliiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiivvvvvveeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!” I know that I’ve been M.I.A. for quite some time, but I’ve committed to getting back into blogging. To show how committed I’ve become, I’m planning on publishing a few posts within a few days. Yes, you heard me right; I will be posting more than once per month! But before I get into the swing of things, I want to wrap up my goals from my year as a twenty-two-year-old.

Use my iPhone Only as a Phone for a Week

I have officially done it; I have finished one whole week of only using the phone capability on my iPhone. This is one of my goals that I dreaded almost immediately after I wrote it down. The thought of having to give up the features on my phone that I use constantly throughout the day was unpleasant to say the least. I was putting off tackling this goal for a few months, but a week ago I decided that the best time to complete this challenge would be during my break from college for the holidays. Armed with the knowledge that this was the most convenient time to start this dreaded task, I jumped head-first into my week of expected misery.
